The art I am submitting is figurative work created over the last two years in which I honor the strength of women and the Sacred Feminine. Women everywhere have their daily challenges, demons from the past, and uncertain futures. With each new life passage there is a desire to be heard and respected. In this series of paintings and prints, women display their innate power and their connection to Spirit. While they radiate independence, they also acknowledge the arbitrary barriers and obstacles that women often encounter. These women stand at the threshold and offer up their wisdom as divine creators.

While the pandemic brought its challenges, my salvation came via my studio, my art, and my meditation practice. I am so very grateful and count my blessings every day. I found that my own spirituality strengthened during Covid. While I had a meditation practice before, this time alone gave me the opportunity to make a daily commitment using the TM training I received in Guadalajara many years ago. With my yoga practice, journaling, Tarot and Oracle Cards, listening to podcasts of some of the great spiritual teachers, I found a connection that became my lifeline.
